NAME: Steel Warrior LOCATION: Brazil STYLE: Power Metal WEBSITE: www.steelwarrior.com.brBAND STATUS: Signed to Hellion Records CD TO CHECK OUT FIRST: Their second album "Army of the Time" is a killer SONGS TO CHECK OUT FIRST: Spell of Witches' World, Power Metal, Divine Wind of Sho, Revenge NOTES: The thing I like about this band is that they play power metal the way it should be: fast, heavy and agressive - not just melodic and cheezy. It's POWER METAL, not KINDER-GARDEN METAL!! Their second album "Army of the Time" entered some high charts in Japan's Burn Magazine. They also sold a nice amount of CDs over Europe. Here in Brazil they are quite well-know in the metal scene and they reached really nice positions on charts from magazines like Rock Brigade and Roadie Crew. Check it out! They have some full mp3 songs on their webpage.

Hello all! I have a few bands I want to add here, four to be exact. I apologise for doing four bands, but I just couldn't resist! Australia is a haven for great heavy metal bands, yet people often overlook them. But I swear that each of these bands is of the highest quality (and more). So if you feel like listening to an awesome band that you have not heard before, check out one or all of these bands, you can't go wrong! Thanks for your time. Cheers! NAME: Psycroptic LOCATION: Australia STYLE: Technical Thrashy Death Metal WEBSITE: www.psycroptic.comBAND STATUS: Signed to Unique Leader CD TO CHECK OUT FIRST: The Scepter Of The Ancients (2nd album) SONGS TO CHECK OUT FIRST: The Colour Of Sleep, Cruelty Incarnate, The Valley Of Winds Breath And Dragons Fire. MY NOTES: Not your standard death metal band. Lyrically they are more focused on an immaginative fantasy world than gore infested jibberish of most death metal bands. Their sound is intense, varied and brutal. NAME: Astriaal LOCATION: Australia STYLE: Black Metal WEBSITE: www.astriaal.comBAND STATUS: Signed to Blacktalon Media CD TO CHECK OUT FIRST: Renascent Misanthropy (their dubut after a string of E.P's and mini albums). SONGS TO CHECK OUT FIRST: Ritual Hate Construct, Ode To Antiquity, Acquisition Of The Stars. MY NOTES: A very refreshing sound. This band is amazing, my words cannot do them justice, so I'll stick with that one word. Amazing. NAME: Devolved LOCATION: Australia STYLE: Technical Futuristic Death Metal WEBSITE: www.devolved.comBAND STATUS: Signed to Casket Music CD TO CHECK OUT FIRST: Technologies (debut) SONGS TO CHECK OUT FIRST: Distorted, Progress, Fallen Cities. MY NOTES: This band is technical beyond belief. Think early fear factory, but much more technical, faster, heavier and aggressive, without clean vocals. Their first album is a masterpiece! NAME: Earth LOCATION: Australia STYLE: Old School death metal, ala Entombed/At The Gates. WEBSITE: www.earthmetal.20m.comBAND STATUS: High Voltage Records CD TO CHECK OUT FIRST: The Bleeding Fields (2nd album) SONGS TO CHECK OUT FIRST: The Bleeding Fields, From The Grave, Reign Of Hate. MY NOTES: I was very suprised when I heard the Bloodbath album 'Resurrection Through Carnage'. I thought it was Earth. They sound very similar. Both are paying homage to the early 90's death metal scene. Earth have a little bit of a rock'n'roll feel though, which is quite a nice touch. Any death metal fan won't be dissapointed! Thanks again if you made it this far

Really good recommendations, from everybody, here's mine: NAME: Funeral Fog LOCATION: East Coast, Canada STYLE: Black Metal WEBSITE: www.funeralfog.netBAND STATUS: Recently signed to Eclipse Productions, working on new album and re-releasing "Under the Black Veil" CD TO CHECK OUT FIRST: Their first album "Under the Black Veil" as well as the split (ltd. to 200 copies) with Snowfall; "Winter Falls Over the Northlands" SONGS TO CHECK OUT FIRST: Transylvanian Bloodlust, Graveland, Under the Black Veil, Funeral Rites..., Immortal Summonings NOTES: You can definitely picture the cold, dark and frosty landscape of Northern Canada when you purchase and listen to "Under the Black Veil". Amazing vocals done by Nokturnis, and awesome guitar work by Krall, the way black metal should be played. Playing Black Metal along the lines of Burzum and early Frozen Shadows, Funeral Fog is the new rebirth of BM without using girl thingy synth to make the music stand out.

alright i love grimfist i hope they do some touring sometime soon, also can't wait to hear their new stuff. but if you would check out the band Scar Culture. I am the moderator of their music board so come and do some posting if you like the band. NAME: Scar Culture LOCATION: New York USA STYLE: Thrashy, heavy, Grind WEBSITE: www.scarculture.comBAND STATUS: Signed CD TO CHECK OUT FIRST: Inscribe SONGS TO CHECK OUT FIRST: Vision MY NOTES: The band has been around for awhile but have indured some changes, they had a bus accident and now have a new singer, the members of the band post on the boards and are interested in hearing fan input. they are working on a follow up to their first opus "inscribe" . If you are along the east coast area they are doing music festivals and shows in the north eastern area to get a feel of their new stuff. All together a great band that deserves more attention than they are getting, so stop by the website and check them out and give some feed back and stay for a while. (message boards crashed but they are up and working again, so don't be surprised by the lack of messages there.) thanks

NAME: Disillusion LOCATION: Germany STYLE: Hard to describe. They take elements of thrash, black, power, death and stick it all together. Go look at my notes, that'll explain it. WEBSITE: www.disillusion.deEGROUP (that I started): www.groups.yahoo.com/group/disillusion_metalBAND STATUS: Signed CD TO CHECK OUT FIRST: Their brand new one, Back To Times of Splendor SONGS TO CHECK OUT FIRST: pleeeeeeeeeeease check out ...And The Mirror Cracked first, you'll see why MY NOTES: This is what I wrote for the description of them for the egroup: Combining complex interludes with bone-crushing metal riffs plus death AND melodic vocals, these guys take the meaning of psychosis to a whole new level. One cannot define the type of metal these Germans play - one word is not enough. One moment you feel a bass pounding in your brain with vocals that demand to be heard; the next moment you hear harmonic vocals intertwining with violins, keyboards and acoustic guitars. Technical yet beautiful, crushing yet melodic, they definitely leave nothing to desire. They take elements from black to thrash to death to power and combine them into one of the most interesting mixtures I’ve heard in a long time. I’m betting that fans of Opeth, Into Eternity, Amorphis, Emperor and Nevermore will thoroughly enjoy this band.

I don't really like Scar Culture, they're a bit mallcore-ish... I heard them a long time ago, a few months back, but I'm not into the music much.
